About this product

Product Information

Force 21 has the distinction of being only one of few 2D real-time strategy titles released for the Game Boy Color system. Developed by The Code Monkeys Ltd., Force 21 focuses on conventional warfare scenarios between China and the United States in a future (2015) where "Star Wars" technology has rendered nuclear warfare unusable. As a commander in either force, players control up to five platoons and employ tanks, artillery, infantry, mine sweepers, support aircraft, attack helicopters, and AFVs. Missions involve reconnaissance, mobile assaults, escorts, air and ground attacks, defense, delaying tactics, and transport.

Force 21 offers three difficulty levels, pre-mission briefings with clearly stated objectives, an overhead perspective, and 16 diverse locales including desert, snow, city, and plains. Units are rated in off-road and road speeds (slow, average, fast, or very fast), firepower (poor, average, or powerful), firing range (short, average, long, or very long), armor (poor, very low, above average, high, or very high) and maneuverability (poor, average, or high). Additional featured units include tanks, APCs, HMMWV, helicopters, troops, trucks, minesweepers, A-10, and long range artillery.

  • OK GAME FOR IT'S DAY

This game is ok, esp. for the age of this game. I recently got one of these in and tried it out a little. The game play is smooth. Story line abit weak really for a WWIII game. Also graphics are what you really come to expect from GameBoy Color(very "retro"). All in all this game was still kinda playable(would prob do better with a younger gamer).
