Incredible handheld game, less one control issue
This game would have been perfect if they would have put a realistic drift in the ships flight path. Instead of continuing to move while turning it comes to a complete stop which is strange for a flight simulator, but being able to strafe and roll kind of makes up for it. If you like games with multiple button maps and plenty of features, you'll be happy with this one. The compact radar is pretty well done, for having 3d open space to keep track of. And the best graphics I've seen yet, I've only played a few missions, which look like they'll be challenging enough. If you buy this and find yourself dying a lot at first, it's probably because of accidently decelerating while rolling, that's the only snafu in the otherwise well laid out controls. Great Port of a Old Game......
This game came out on PC years ago during the late 1990's. I still own the games but I can't play them due to newer PC's that can't run them. This Port is from the last of the Wing Commander games. I just have to say they did an excellent job porting the PC game to a Gameboy Advance system. To bad they couldn't include the full motion videos, but I like the pictures. The graphics are great, so is the controls which are hard to believe. The only things that are bad is the music and sound. Which is very bad. An amazing port of a good game. Even more amazing is how smooth it runs on GBA hardware! I wouldn't have believed that a PC game could translate so well to the little GBA. Though the textures suffer a little, the combat shows little to no slowdown, and feels very much like a Wing Commander game. This game really shines on the GameCube GameBoy Player, with the Gamecube controller and the large screen making it feel much like the PC title.An amazing port of a good game.
