I'd say the noise reduction was dramatized in the reviews I read. Definitely more tolerable but not as quiet as the wind. The little cap that goes on the intake was full of plastic webbing (mentioned in a review) from the print process. I used a small screw driver to poke through the holes and break it free. Not sure how much that webbing would have affected airflow but I didn't want to chance it. Overall I'd buy again
