After getting the runaround from iRobot's TERRIBLE support assuring me to just "give it time to learn", the return window is closed now and iRobot has abandoned me. I'm certainly glad I didn't pay full price for this thing. Interesting that they no longer make the i7... I think I now know why. I could have stuck with my $30 stick vacuum to match the performance.

They continue to sell them on eBay as I write this. BEWARE iRobot warranty does cover the iRobots sold on eBay from this seller. Be very cautious when purchasing from this seller.

Sometimes the unit leaves the docking station for a few minutes and returns for a charge, and other times it stops in its tracks and does not return. It has not completed one full circuit of cleaning yet. I do not recommend purchase of this unit.

Some parts of the plastic looked “pristine” but not everything looked in that condition. Disappointed in that aspect. The battery doesn’t last as advertised. Most likely the battery is used and does not have a 100% battery life. Refurbished in this case means the item is used but comes in a box that looks refurbished. Other than that, the roomba works 👍🏼.

This Roomba pickes up the dirt much better than the orignal Roomba that I had. My only complaint was in the instructions provided to get it started, especially getting it to talk to my iphone was a little hard to find. Other then that, it does a much better jod cleaning our floors. I opted not to get the cleaning station. It just means empting out the waist every couple of days. The advantage to this is that you can shake out the air filter which makes it last longer.

Save yourself the money and the headache: don't buy this.
I'm so disappointed with this. I've been hoping for years to get a robot vac, and this is just... sad. The best way I can describe its performance is like a "carpet hoky" / "carpet and floor sweeper", which I could have gotten for a lot less money. - It keeps getting itself stuck, which is baffling b/c I'm sitting there thinking "well, you got yourself in there... you should be able to get yourself out!" - At least twice now, it has gone into areas I explicitly had marked as "keep out" zones. - It won't dock reliably, which goes back to basic theory of "you got yourself out of there, you should be able to get yourself back in!" It's like watching a drunk try to park a car. - It also leaves a bunch of debris around it's own base; so basically it doesn't clean up after itself. - This doesn't always pick up all the stuff on the floor - and no, it's not an absurd amount of dirt or debris, nor is the bin full or the filter dirty. - I have to assist it all the time, e.g. it thinks it's stuck in an open area, or it thinks it's wheel is stuck on specific part of the rug where there is literally nothing there (believe me, I have checked repeatedly). - One day the "smart map" just decided on its own to delete a room divider that had been there for over a month. Worst of all, iRobot "support" has been giving me the runaround. They don't understand what I'm saying, I have trouble at times understanding what they're saying, and they just fobbed me off by telling me I just need to give it more time to "learn." Yeah. It's had almost 2 months now, and it's actually getting worse. They don't care that I am spending loads of time just to get them on the phone, and then having to repeat myself over and over of what's wrong, etc. I do actually have other things to do. They don't respect me or my time. I feel really duped and cheated. I guess I should have listened to myself when I thought "hmmm... seems iRobot is not selling this model at all anymore; that seems odd". Thanks a lot for the rip off, iRobot.

Great product when it works.
This is a great product if it works reliably. It does a good job cleaning the house and navigating from one room to another. BUT... I had to return the first unit because it kept displaying hardware errors. Now the replacement unit also started showing hardware errors from time to time in the iRobot application and sometimes does not start until I close and open the app again. If the problem persists I may have to return this unit, unfortunately.

Great once setup
We had issues getting the unit to connect after setup completed. It would acknowledge the setup but then wouldn't do anything and respond with message "not connected ". I issued a ticket but no response after 3 days prompted me to find process to reset unit from the unit itself, this method tried after trying through the application. This worked perfectly. All works great and as expected now.

Quiet enough, cleans well.
Quiter, or at least at a more ignorable pitch than the 980 it replaced. We still avoid running it when watching TV or being in the room, but it's not as awful as the older model. Sucks up everything we need it to, in a two-cat, two-human household. Covers about 400 sq ft (one floor) in an hour and never has to empty mid-clean. Mapping worked well, and correctly knows rooms when it enters. Occasionally loses internet connectivity but it always comes back within the hour.
