These tools are small and light. The asparagus knife has a 9/32" shaft and 1/2" wide blade. The blade is not square with the handle. You need to twist your wrist to have the blade go into the ground in a comfortable position. The knife edge is blunt--about 1/8 inch wide at the tip. A professional gardener would probably give these tools to a child.
