    Epic rise of baseball!

    Great book for baseball history buffs! As a Reds fan, this book really showed how Harry Wright was not only instrumental in establishing the first Pro team (Cinti. Red Stockings), but his high standards were very instrumental in developing respected pro baseball in the whole country! I am fascinated with how both baseball & the country grew together. This book covers it all - from small town fields to big city events. (Ha - a little hard to read in bed. It is a big coffee table book stuffed with historic images.)
