    Be Mushroomed

I'm liking it, only part way through it also bought Mycelium Running. Started out learning wild mushrooms to eat. Now it's winter and i'm starting to run out of mushrooms and am learning to grow some. Bonus all the ecological and medicinal benefits we can get from fungi.

    Incredibly detailed, but overkill

This book has very detailed information that would be invaluable for someone who is setting up a large scale commercial gourmet mushroom growing operation. The level of information is thorough, detailed, and so specific that it is a great resource for those type of users. However, for someone who intends to grow mushrooms on a small scale at home, it is overkill. It is not an easy read to get the information you need in an quick, efficient way. I will use this book as a reference, but I will find another source for the information I need to set up my small scale home mushroom growing operation.

  • Growing Mushrooms

This is a dense and extremely detailed book. Not for absolute beginners, but a thorough manual for the committed mushroom grower. It's interesting to see how it has become a family business, something that already can be gleaned in the documentary about Mycelium.
