My intent is to use this for non-food. It is painted a silver color that comes off on hands. Except for the thin stainless-steel-like hopper, all parts are cast aluminum including the grinding surfaces. Came poorly packaged. The hopper was bent and had to be hammered into shape to fit. The bolt hole in the shaft where the handle bolt threads in was off center, but it works. For the money though I cannot complain, it will work for my purposes and the delivery was fast.

Sturdy built but the auger is a little too small for the bore and that allows the auger to move up and down in the bore with the result that the mill plates do not stay in sync.
