My old fob wouldn't unlock the car, but everything else worked so I put the blade from it into the new one and programmed it and it worked.

It required some shaving down and tapping with a mallet to get it to fit, but once it was in it worked like a charm. I'm a little concerned about getting it back out if I need to, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there, I suppose.
