Dark Shadows (a spooky daytime drama which ran on ABC-TV from 1966-71) has remained a strong cult favorite through TV reruns and video releases for over 30 years since it's original airing (a legion of fans will attend The Dark Shadows 30th Anniversary Celebration this summer). This unique collection, featuring many rare and previously unreleased tracks, contains the hit single version of the Grammy-nominated instrumental "Quentin's Theme" by Charles Randolph Grean. All tracks never-before-available on CD.

    Dark Shadows: 30th Anniversary Collection Soundtrack

    This CD is great for anyone who was in love with the series, "Dark Shadows" which ran from the late 1960s to 1971. Although the CD DOES offer many sound bites of the series, for anyone who wishes to have the full effect of the series music by Robert Colbert will find it lacking. Instead they should seek out the original Dark Shadows CD/album. For anyone seeking easy-listening music, they will be highly satisfied with this CD. Moreover, it includes a rare interview by Jonathan Frid (Barnabas Collins), the opening voice-over by Victoria Winters for the first show, AND the voice-over by Thayer David(Ben Stokes/Dr. Timothy Stokes) for the wrap-up of the last minutes of the final episode!

    A trip into the past

    What a fun CD! I still have the old LP that came out in the late 1960's, and this has that music, and more. It does not have Jonathon Frid reciting poetry, but it does include David Selby singing (!) and a re-release of a recording Frid did for members of the Dark Shadows fan club. Some of the music sounds a tad dated, but it is 40 years old, after all. Good pix and a recap of the show's history are included.

    Very good with some incidental music added in. Well worth the purchase to complete my DS collection of music scores.

    Sound Too Low

    I was a little disappointed in the volume quality. That's the only thiing I didn't like about it. Otherwise it worked perfectly. I just don't think it was in stereo.
