I really do miss the America I grew up in and its old movies and TV series.
It's a blast from the past! We just finished binging on the new Lost in Space series and it was fun and technically engaging. And, the whole time, we were remembering the old series, with Lassie's mom and the other older actors. There's no computer animation in the old series and the actors had to act and the screenwriters had to write. It just reminds us of an older time, when we were more innocent and still loved America. My son and I love the first season of Lost in Space, and we got a great deal on these DVDs!
The Sci Fi T.V. show, Lost in Space, was on T.V., when I was preteen. I loved this movie then, and I love it now! My son, who is in his late thirties, enjoys relieving this fun part of my childhood! This is an entertaining, wholesome television series, that is suitable for all ages, but was probably made for 6-13 year olds. This show was made towards the end of a very family-oriented, moral era, so there is not any obscene language. In some episodes, the Robinson family are seen praying and thanking the Lord for what he has given to them, or for the harm that he has saved them from. This is not a show that shared the gospel, but it is one in which people showed reverence for our Creator, and they did not take His name in vain, like so many terrible current T.V. shows and movies do now! Most of the episodes are really cute and these have many great special effects, that were new in the 1960s! This is really a fun show and I highly recommend it. Fun adventure with wild imagination.
When "LIS" started out, it was like a cross between "THE OUTER LIMITS" and "BONANZA". While season 1 got wilder as it went, only 1 episode could really be described as "silly". (That came with season 2.) Season 1 is how I wish the show had stayed, and has been a favorite of mine since it was first-run. Will Robinson was the kid I wanted to be when I was a kid, with the family I wish I had. I haven't seen most of these since the late 70s, so I've been looking forward to gettig this box set for some time! Fun in Space
Lost in Space was a late 60's sci-fi series I had watched as a child. It's great to revisit the series on dvd for all the strange and wonderful creatures, wacky buffoonery of Dr. Zachery Smith, and the family values of The Robinson's as they battle with wits and weapons against the wild expanses of the universe. Classic show from the 60's
