Reviews
"A beautiful gift of a book . . . [Hello, Mom] had me howling and tearing up!" -- Giovanna Fletcher "I loved how it quietly captures all the anxiety, beauty and hilarity . . . A really special book." -- Evie Wyld "Polly's sketches capture beautifully those moments with your very young children. They are a memory-book of feelings. Tender, funny, sometimes heartbreaking snapshots of motherhood. As my six-year-old daughter says, these pictures are 'kind and lovely." -- Shappi Khorsandi "Brilliant . . . tender, relatable, raw, and made me feel less alone." -- Josie Long "Dunbar perfectly captures both the blissful, simple joy and the earth-shattering frustration that is the parenting pendulum. Gorgeous." -- Ellie Taylor "This thing of beauty by Polly Dunbar has been keeping me sane." -- Cariad Lloyd "Polly Dunbar GETS it." -- Sophie Dahl "Magic, mayhem and sleep deprivation - this beautiful book speaks a universal language for moms." -- Kate Quilton "Well, well, well,' as the eye said to the heart. Polly Dunbar's exquisite take on the highs and lows of motherhood will make you well up with tears of laughter - and love." -- Ros Asquith, cartoonist " Like all great illustrated books, it won't disappoint whatever page you land on when you open it. Honest, tender and funny, Hello, Mom made me laugh and it made me cry. It's going to be my go-to gift for every new mom." -- Claire Gillespie Motherdom
Synopsis
'Tender, funny, sometimes heartbreaking snapshots of motherhood.' - Shappi Khorsandi Fantastically funny, wise and charming motherhood sketches from award-winning illustrator Polly Dunbar. 'Go away, I'm busy writing about the beauty of motherhood.' Polly Dunbar is an award-winning illustrator who usually draws for children rather than adults, but when she had her own sons, she started recording the beautiful and maddening moments of parenthood with a doodle. Hello, Mum is her visual diary of the magical highs and absurd lows that many parents will recognise - from the shock and awe of the baby days to the delight (and terror) of the toddler years and the mayhem of sibling rivalry. Dunbar's fantastically funny, wise and enchanting drawings capture this precious and fleeting time with heart-touching perfection., Fantastically funny, wise and charming motherhood sketches from award-winning illustrator Polly Dunbar. - i***9 (26860)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseThis book arrived today and could have been packaged a bit better. The vinyl shipping envelope did not protect this book from marring, damaged book corners and cover sleeve damage. The mailer was also torn. Perhaps wrapping the book in a cardboard cover will have prevented the damaged to the product inside. Would not have added anymore shipping cost of USPS Bound Printed Matter. Needs improvement in shipping. I got a good decent copy as opposed to New. The price was fair for what I receive.Killing the Legends: The Lethal Danger of Celebrity (Bill O'Reilly's Killing Ser (#376249080564)
