    Quality and very good Value

    I have been taking tons of pictures. Pictures are sharp corner to corner. I bought it to go traveling . With a 2.7 crop the effective zoom is 27-270 mm. It has a power zoom which makes it Ideal for vide.

    Silent zooming!

    The lens essentially turns your nikon 1 into a camcorder, with a near silent zoom. The photo quality is on par with the standard 10-100 nikon 1 lens. Its heavybut feels robust , and balanced in the hand. The lens has 72mm filter thread and its size is comparable to an F mount 85mm f1.8, but smaller than the new Tamron 35mm f1.8VC I Purchased this lens "open box" from buy-dig but it's really a refurb for a substantial discount vs. Used and or new.

    Worked Great! Once.

    Not the fault of the lens, but of the lousy camera (never buy the first release of anything!). When I first attached it, I walked around and shot some pretty good photos. But then I swapped lenses, and when I swapped back I got an error referring me to Nikon support. Uh, no. Any Nikon repair work will cost more than the camera - and the new lens - is worth.

    Weighty but worth it

    Have only had mine for the last two (rainy) weeks, so haven't had much chance to use it. Playing with around the house, I am impressed with the apparent quality. Compared to the 30-110 kit lens, there is much less "play" and wiggle. I don't know that I needed the power zoom as I only take still photos, but the mechanism is very quiet. The only downside that I've noticed is the weight, with this lens on my V2, I'd guess that there is three times the weight hanging on my neck.

    A nice deal on a quality lens.

    The lens is as described. Honestly, now that I've used it, I wish that I'd gotten the manual telephoto instead of the electric drive, but that's fine. It's far bigger than I expected, and dwarfs the camera. It was new in the box, with all the docs. A good deal. The telephoto isn't that impressive; it's the light-gathering which is so awesome.
