    Good printer but......

    This printer, like many ink jets eat ink!!! The print quality is good, colors are OK but I'm glad I have a laser printer (B&W) for the majority of printing. Before you buy an ink jet, price cartridges so you'll know what it costs to print a page.

    Alignment strip install not a slam dunk

    The used alignment strip for my HP Officejet 6500 E709a printer arrived looking great. It was harder to install than shown on YouTube however and the printer doesn't recognize it for some reason (it is correctly installed) and will not print. I am currently looking into how to re-set up the printer on the software side with the hope that the reboot will re-calibrate the strip with the rest of the printer. Any suggestions on possible solutions are appreciated.

    Was this For sale as is for parts? Evidently.

    The printer I bought had eight things wrong to keep it from working. It will be a while before I can remody enough of them to see a functioning machine. I have repaced a broken paper feed gear and cleaned out the excessive waste ink buildup. The 6800 was a good enough printer in its day. It just wasn't built to last as long as some of them still in service.
