    Very useful!

    Used with a Food Saver vacuum sealer, either hand held or table top, this jar sealer is great for vacuum sealing wide mouth mason jars. It is NOT a replacement for canning, but rather to keep fresh foods fresh. I use it for crackers, chips, nuts, baking mix, dry pet food, seeds, spices, raisins, etc. It will even extend the freshness of romaine lettuce and spinach. Tip: If your metal lid is really cold, warm it up a little in hot water to get a better seal.

    Works as advertised

    It looks like this item has been sitting on the shelf for many years as the box it came in was faded and the tube that came with it had turned yellow with age. I had my own tube so I didn't care and the vacuum sealer cap looked new and worked as advertised with my food saver vacuum sealer. If I needed a hose I would have been disappointed with the product and given it a low rating.

    Wonderful foodsaver

    This FoodSaver works great. After much research I found that this model had exactly the features I was looking for. I am able to bag muffins without crushing them because I can stop the vacuum process at any time. That also helps when you're sealing something juicy. Once you see the moisture get near the seal you can stop the suction. I also love the built it bag cutter. Much easier than my old model. It takes a little practice to get the bag inserted correctly but I used it so much that it didn't take long. I've had it for over a year now and it's still going strong. It sets on my counter and because of it's upright design it doesn't take much room. Great buy for the money.

    EASY AND USEFUL

    I’m still new to the Foodsaver, so had only used the bags. A friend told me how easy it was to “can” dry food, such as beans, rice, etc so I tried it. I did a dozen jars in less than 10 minutes. You just connect the lid to the accessory tube, fill the jar then place the flat lid on the jar and push the Foodsaver cap down. Push the button and it runs, then you hear the pop of the seal and the Foodsaver stops. Remove the cap and it’s done. So easy.

    Sure Fit!

    I just love this! You just put a new lid without the ring onto your wide mouth mason jar and I already had the tube attachment so just attached that and then attached to my vacuum pack machine and my machine cut off when it was sealed. Then you just take this lid sealer off and you have a perfectly vacuumed packed product. You can then put the ring on the jar with the sealed lid or leave it off for there is no use for it on a sealed jar.
