    Wilkinson Tuners for my new build

    I initially bought a cheap set of tuners I found on ebay, the gears stripped after a few neck shim trials on my new P/J Bass build. The ferrules had too much clearance and the tuners would bend at pitch. I ordered the Wilkinson tuners and was quite pleased with the results. The base mount is bigger and thicker and the tuner post is beefier. The ferrules fit tightly to the post. The gear teeth are bigger and hardened?. The tuners turn easy now and hold tune well. I would use these again. They were a good value for the price.

    High price, low quality

    Too expensive for low quality tuners. These are the exact tuners found on low end cheap import instruments. Just put them on a customers bass & was not surprised to find the tuner spin without tuning the string.

    Ears TOO large to fit Pbass neck?

    They are very well made, to replace the LARGE ear Schaller tuners. But the ears are TOO big, and were overlapping with I tried to put them on a standard PBass neck. The previous larger Schaller fit fine! So I had to file a bit of the edges off which was a bit of work with a metal file. Probably why they were on sale.
