I have been a "fan" of Mackie mixers since they first appeared on the market. I have different input configurations of the mixers to deal with different types of events. I rely on the VLZ models. I have models from the first series to the current series. I do a lot of sound for sporting events, and the VLZ models are rugged, clean and reliable. I have tried other brands of mixers but I always come back to Mackie.

I have owned a Mackie vlz402 original model and it was Bulletproof. I used to use it for PA shows where I only needed two channels left and right for a DJ setup. The newer models have better Headroom onyx preamps on the mic channels end of the 802 that I ordered has amazing feeling knobs I have never felt knobs that are so smooth. They don't have tons of resistance either when you try to turn them it's fairly easy and smooth feeling. The beautiful thing about Mackie is there sound quality, it rivals the best even in their small model so I recommend you get any one of the vlz pro. I bought the 802 model so I can have a left and right channel for a DJ setup and one extra Channel 4 a wireless mic setup. I also have a Soundcraft Wireless mixer but I do not want to use it for my next gig which is 4 days straight my computer sitting out in the elements, so I want to use the bulletproof Mackie.....and that says a lot.Read full review

Man for a long time I’ve been using a hand me down behringer mixer in between my monitors and my sound card. Recently swapped it out for this bad boy and the difference is incredible! The signal is so crisp and clear now. I can’t believe I waited this long to do this. My mix downs have significantly improved. Highly recommend!

I tried a couple of others to make my sound system more compact, and learned that was a waste of time and money. So I found this unite and right away I could hear the sound quality. Mackie is always a win win, The board is supper low noise. When others are very distorted :)

I've grown like Mackie products. This is my second mixer and it is everything that I expected and more. I especially like it's compact design which makes it very portable without any compromise to it's capabilities. Very nice board... My next one will be at least 12-16 channels.

I have used bigger boards and more expensive units, but this unit sounds good and for a small mixer it has huge quality, in short I like it!!!
