Getting original broadway cast CD's is the best way of getting to know why a hit became a hit. Plus your getting the singer before their voices go bad. The songs are great and I was surprised the Mr. Burton was the king. Well worth having.

Great CD of of a great classic Broadway musical!
What a classic Broadway show! Julie Andrews never sounded so good! And Richard Burton what a pleasing quality to his Shakespearean voice as he recites in rhythm and SINGS, TOO! (Much like Rex Harrison did in My Fair Lady) And ....oh yeah, some young canadian baritone......oh what was his name....Robert....GOULET! Making his broadway debut! Great Music!!!! Great Voices!!!! It's a shame that when Warner Brothers (Jack Warner, in particular)made the movie in the 60's they didn't use the original cast. Vanessa Redgrave doesn't come close to holding a candle to Julie Andrews! If you want to see something great get the Ed Sullivan dvd collection of Broadway musicals and watch Richard Burton and Julie Andrews perform "What Do The Simple Folk Do?" and watch Burton dance! He's realy having ... What a classic Broadway show! Julie Andrews never sounded so good! And Richard Burton what a pleasing quality to his Shakespearean voice as he recites in rhythm and SINGS, TOO! Camelot is one of the world's best stories and the music is glorious!
The original Broadway cast is the best. I only wish I had been able to see the production. Burton, Andrews and Goulet were the best players for this story. Much, much better than the film! Great production!

Don’t let it be forgot...
....that once there was a spot... I ordered the CD after seeing a wonderful live performance of Camelot recently. My only complaint is that I play it a few times and then can’t get the songs out of my head!

Good performances but without the feeling of the motion picture actors & actresses.
It is indeed wonderful to hear Julie Andrews, Richard Burton & Robert Goulet sing in this Original Broadway production. BUT, they lack the sincerity, or perhaps better described as the genuineness of real emotions that are shared by the likes of Richard Harris, Vanessa Redgrave and others.
