Death's daughter, Scarlett, journeys into the heart of 16th century Venice to stop an evil necromancer and his undead underlings in this action/role-playing game from German developer Deck 13. Scarlett can equip axes, swords, war hammers, and other weapons to slay her enemies. Combat involves pressing a button to swing, and then timing subsequent button presses to string together powerful combos. Scarlett can also enter a spirit world at any time to move without being seen as well as communicate with the dead. The action takes place predominately within Venice, as players explore the city's five districts and underground catacombs in search of ways to reach her tyrannical target. As she defeats enemies, Scarlett will earn skill points that can be spent on various magic and melee techniques taught by skill trainers. These abilities allow Scarlett to block with specific weapon types, perform longer chain attacks, cast life-stealing spells, and more.

Upon receiving the package it showed signs of rough handling. The disc itself was very scraped even though the seller said it was in very good condition also the case was broken and damaged as well. The seller should accurately represent the condition of the items to ensure transparency and build trust with their buyers. In this case the discrepancy between the listing and the product was significant leaving me feeling misled. Moving forward I truly hope the seller does a better job.

Clearly based on the photos the disk was in excellent condition. The case is clearly not cracked or damaged in the photos. The game was sent in a bubble mailer inside of a box, so it was definitely not damaged via shipping. This account was created less than 2 weeks ago and is clearly to manipulate feedback. Sellers beware of this "buyer".

OK for a cheaper game, will keep you busy for a while..
I got to try an advance copy of Venetica for PS3 and it is ok...it will probably never be a franchise game though. The 3D map architecture is great, but without it they wouldn't sell a single copy in todays game market. The storyline is interesting enough to keep you playing, the controls are easy to learn, and the main character (Death's daughter, Scarlett) will make you want to keep playing to keep learning what powers she has ingrained in her "DNA". For a mid-level priced game, Venetica isnt all that bad. Great game for down to earth RPG fans.
Venetica is a diamond in the rough for RPG fans. It didn't get the positive reception it deserved I thought. I'm thinking if it had been a downloadable title it would have gotten more positive attention. The graphics are servicable, animations are smooth, and the world is unique. The skill trees and reputation system offer some variety. There's plenty of loot, puzzles to do, and some fun ways to customize the heroine as well. The combat is fairly typical action/rpg stuff but it has it's own feel which I enjoyed, the player is going to do better if they pay attention instead of button-mash. The voiceovers are suprisingly good in most cases and Venetica has a nice way of using its art style and just enough care in the writing to make the all the characters from shopkeeps to main story ... The game has a day-night cycle that transforms the city from a bright, colourful, and bustling metropolis to a dark and dangerous underworld of bandits and demons. There is a unique aspect to every location visited by Scarlett, and she has plenty of opportunities to wander around and explore as the game’s world opens up.Scarlett is equipped with a main quest that will take around 20 hours of gameplay to complete. There are also 50 to 60 hours of side quests.Like in most RPGs, Scarlett is able to choose how she interacts with other characters in the game. Acting morally ...
