This die has a collar that aligns the bullet with the neck case prior to any pressure being applied to the bullet to seat it. You have the option of seating and crimping in two steps or the die can be adjusted to seat and crimp in one step. Seating and crimping in one step requires you to pay attention to the directions and it will take a cartridge or two to get the die set up to get consistent results. Bullet seating depths are consistent with a rare variation of less than .005". I disassembled a few bullets where the C.O.A.L. was off and the variations were due to the bullets and not the die. This die will work with 7.62x54r as well. I have the .224 seating die and it works just as well.

Purchased for seating only one bullet for one rifle, I was surprised at how easy seating adjustments can be made and how well it maintains the setting. Loaded twenty and removed from it my press. A week later, loaded fifty without touching the setting. The last one was exactly the same CBTO as the first.

I have bought quite a few of these in the past for many calibers. They work great and for many different cartridges. Not just the ones they are recommended for. If it is the right caliber and within the length range of the die, it will work.
