Like all other detectors of this type, one would really have to have a lot of experience with it to find tricky, modern-day bugs. The telephone portion is of no value. It does cover fairly high frequencies, but I had a device that would match this 20 years ago. Of course, it was 6K then. I purchased mine for about a third of what they are selling for. A nice new toy to play with and would of been NERY DISAPPOINTED to of paid any more. They should of included an optic add-on for hidden cameras, as the RF alone is not enough, and will not detect a non-transmitting camera, where an optic does. Does employ a step down option to help pinpoint RF transmission. Best Advise, Loose Lips Sink Ships! :-0

It was a lot to choose from, and of course as you, I didn't wanted it to be a crap. This detector worth its price, %100 detects phone usage, call, messages. I had also tested it on audio bug FM transmitter, got it busted too. In description says it's range detection up to 30 ft, of course not on everything, it detected my FM bug from 1 feet, but it did, so all it matters:) WIFI signals make life complicated, it alarms on it, turning off just yours, wont help much, if your neighbor WiFi in range, but "home switch" button solves its, it cuts off sensitivity, which makes it very helpful.

Needs an adjustable nob for sensitivity , the button from high to low , not enough . Also you need to be on top of the tracking device to find it , within 6 inches , not good.

Very well made, and rounded
