I have been listening to Mudvayne since they arrived on the metal scene and this cd contains some old, some new and a little in between. Mudvayne proves you can teach an old dog new tricks in this cd with the more structure in their songs that still have the chaotic edge to them. There's brutal breakdowns and catchy choruses. Mudvayne experiments with a soft song power ballad-esque "Dead Inside".Greg tribbit usually sits back with repeatitive riffs and lets everyone else does their thing but in this cd, he proves he can play a mean solo or two. Don't get me wrong, this cd is far from perfect, i am just particularly fond of it and it's experimental black-light artwork.
Absolutely recommend; Chad Gray the Screamin' Demon & crew in self titled album which dropped in 2009. "Scream with Me" is personal favorite on the album. I always thought the interactive cover was pretty sweet. Included is a mini black light. The art was drawn with reactive ink by a tattoo artist named Paul Booth. The whole album jams. Metal on!

This album seems very much geared for the hardcore Mudvayne fans. It seems more like LD50 and The End of all Things to Come. Very raw, unpredictable and heavy, something Mudvayne strayed from on the last two records. 1000 Mile Journey seems to be my favorite so far. I think Mudvayne recognized their fan base was crying out for the older sound from them, and they very much delivered. This album isn't about singles, its the real deal, all killer and no filler!
