About this product

Product Information

A colorized update to 1990's The Chessmaster on Game Boy, Chessmaster for Game Boy Color offers players the opportunity to compete against a computer opponent with 16 varying degrees of skill. The chessboard is viewed from a top-down perspective with eight numbers running down the left margin and eight letters appearing along the top. A hand cursor lets players pick up pieces and move them to the selected square. In addition to single-game matches, players can compete in both timed and blindfold games.

Players new to the game can take advantage of an in-game tutorial option, where allowable moves for each piece are visually depicted on the screen. The game also includes multiple piece graphics, custom colors, an option to rearrange the board or take back moves, and various scenarios to complete. Battery-backed memory lets players resume a game already in progress at a later time. Two-player support is handled via Game Link cable or by alternating turns using one Game Boy Color.

I'm not waiting a week to tell you that I am never ordering from this vendor again. Zero customer service, when I try to contact its not delivered. I appreciate the fact the game came quickly however the game though described as "very good" in condition didn't run in my Xbox and no matter what I did it will not read it. It's only 3 dollars but if it is advertised as very good then it should be so. Safe to say I am very disappointed in this vendor and the product that I payed for.

This item came lightning fast and bundled with another item. Shipping cost were phenomenal and was packaged very well. The condition seemed to exceed the description so these folks are truly honest. Very friendly with great communication. This seller is worthy of my business again.

A good price for a cool PSP game, shipped promptly and packaged well. However, the UMD shell arrived cracked so the item wasn't exactly in good condition. The disc itself was fine. Rather than return the item, the seller offered a refund directly. I used the refund to buy some replacement UMD shells and got it working. The replacement UMD shells cost about as much as the item itself. But the seller did the right thing without hesitation, so they have my thanks. Thank you!

after receiving chessmaster in the mail, i did what i usually do-try it out. i've played chessmaster before on ps1, so i knew it would be likeable gameplay. gameplay was very smooth and it wasnt hard to tell which peices were what. it was a fairly long game and i eventually ended up losing, but enjoyed the game nonetheless. im sure with a little playing, i can win a game. the chessmaster usuallt lets me win one now and then

  • Good Title for a chess game

I bought this game to improve my chess playing. It is a good challenge, but I dislike the fact that every time you want to return to your game you have to put a new code to activate it. I just want to turn the game on and get started.
