I was a crew member of the Canberra in the mid to late sixties. We had this same photo hanging in the Second Class Mess. Have always wanted one. This photo was taken on the East Coast shortly after her commissioning as a heavy cruiser guided missile CAG 2. She was the world’s second guided missile ship. This photo was taken in late 1956 or early 1957.
Later her radar was updated and a helicopter landing pad was installed. The USS Boston CAG 1 was the lead ship and her sister. Great photo!
