The sound quality is much better than you would expect from low priced headsets. The fit is pretty good but would be more comfortable with softer ear cushions. The noise reduction is moderate, only affecting lower frequency sounds. Battery life is quite good, but getting the battery cover off is a bit difficult. The on-off switch is flush-mounted on one of the earpieces and can be hard to find by feel while wearing the headset. Despite these minor shortcomings, if you can find this under $20 it is quite a good headset for the price

No Microphone: Product labeled for cellular/mobile use and claims to have a built in microphone. It does not record audio. This will not make your cell phone hands-free, you will have to hold your phone's microphone up to your mouth. I knew as soon as I noticed it doesn't have the appropriate jack. Sound Quality: The sound quality is great with the bass boost turned on. I was incredibly disappointed at first, the sound quality is really terrible without the switch turned on. I would hate to have my battery die. Package says 40 hours on a single AAA but I wouldn't trust it. It muffles background noise but I wouldn't call it "noise cancelling." Comfort: There is no padding on the top, just hard plastic. The adjusters have plastic bumps, so it is not smooth on the top whatsoever. Definitely uncomfortable. It fits a little snug over my hat but is doable. The ear pads are small and squeeze more than I'd like with no way to adjust the pressure. The single AAA battery goes in the right earphone making the right side heavier than the left. Overall: Keep shopping. These feel flimsy. You can find something better for cheaper. There are better sounding headphones without the need for a battery, there bigger more comfortable headphones with less weight. Do not assume these are quality because you recognize the brand. I've used these headphones for a couple weeks and I find them comfortable. They fit well and have good sound. I have only used the noise cancelling to test it as I have no need for this feature. I find the wires are a bit light duty but with a little care they should last a while. I think it is a good value. I will be buying another set for my winter home.

I have owned a variety of noise cancelling headphones to use on trips, the most expensive of which was a pair of Sennheisers that I either lost or were "confiscated" by airport security in, I think, Germany. Thereafter, I now how two pairs of Sonys. This pair is a newer version. The main benefit is a noise reduction of 95% (or 13 dB). That's for the kind of noise found in an aircraft cabin. This makes a real difference for enjoying music or movies. The headphones do not completely fit over my ears - you need a pair with very large surrounding cushions for that (like ear protectors). At the price I bought on EBay, these are a good buy. Be sure to take the two-plug adapter with you; airlines seem to be reverting to that instead of the single plug format, probably to deter theft of provided headphones.Read full review

Product is described as “ over the ear” or cupping style when in fact is “on ear” type which actually fits outside on top of the ear. Does not filter outside noise as over the ear covering the entire outside of the ear. Also does not say they are battery operated which was a surprise as well, inconvenient to have to turn the switch on and off before and after use.

I found a PDF of the instructions. Very nice. Only one AAA battery is required. There is a very tiny LED that is used to signal when battery gives out. 80-hours of use with one alkaline AAA battery. That one AAA battery supplies power tow both headphones. Quality built Sony product. Instructions were dated 2014. Very satisfied and would buy again if needed. I have a size 8 head and these fit with no problem and not too tight either. Very nice. Lightweight too.

It is really not worth the price. Not great quality at all. Sound quality without the noise cancelling on is like the quality of a $1 headphone. You turn the noise reduction on and you get the quality of a $5 headphone. It doesn't seem to block the noise effectively. It is not really a pleasant feeling when you turn the noise cancelling option on. It creates a rather annoying pressure between the headphone and the ear. This specific product also came in package unprofessionally. The wire wasn't put back to how it was before being used or tested. The headphones are also much smaller than was expected and the wire is really thin, which is something that I really did not like. Any wrong movement and the wire can be damaged. I bought a cheaper headphone at the same time as this one and it came to have 10x the quality as this one. It reduced more noise, even though it did not even have a noise reduction technology.Read full review

Don't get these expecting them to beat $300 headphones, just get them because you would like a set of very good sounding, lightweight, compact, good sounding headphones. The noise cancelling doesn't block out everything, if you are looking for silence then get something much more expensive, they do however block out a decent amount of outside noise, I never use them without an audio source, I get on a plane and turn on Norah Jones or Shelby Lynne switch on the NC and just relax (and sleep). They are comfortable on my head and on my ears, I like the sound and there's just enough noise cancelling for me. I don't have any complaints, at this price you can always try them and if you don't like them then get something else.

These headphones have decent sound for their price range and do cancel noise fairly well. I like to use them when mowing to drown out the tractor and enable me to listen to music without having to crank it up to the point where it is bad for my ears. For that, these do the job; I can listen without blasting my eardrums. Unfortunately, I can't recommend them for a couple of reasons. First, since I am using them outdoors, I sometimes have to deal with the wind. A strong breeze can cause an unpleasant whistling sound that resonates in the headphones, and it can also mess up the noise cancellation, causing the sound to cut out from time to time. It can get to the point of giving me a headache. The other issue is that the signal wire is hard-wired into the earphones rather than plugging into a jack. This doesn't sound like a big deal, but it means that if the wire gets damaged or broken, rather than being just a dollar or two to buy a replacement wire, the headphones will be useless unless you want to do some splicing or soldering. It also means that I can't replace it with a wire with volume control, which is actually very handy because it lets me lock my player's controls but still adjust the volume as my music changes. Without these issues, I would probably give these at least four stars, maybe even five. Too bad that they spoil a pretty good product.Read full review

My first set of Noise Canceling headphones, and it does work reducing outside noise from air conditioners and fish tank aquarium pumps etc. Only needs one "AAA" battery. Wish it had an auto turn off feature to save the battery when not in use. Dual impedance allows you to plug into most any source for great sound.
