Works great only a small quirk.

Works great. We bought this to use with a TV in the bedroom and the only small annoying quirk is the layout of the remote. To use the arrow buttons and so forth for DVD menus it is difficult to do in the dark because all of the buttons are the same. Other than that small annoying quirk where you have to turn on a light in a dark bedroom to see where the buttons are, the thing works great and we've had no problems.

  • One costly bad function, three functions good

I bought the Funai DV220FX4, a VCR/DVP combo box. At $80 it is much less expensive than other new VCRs (which are scarcely being manufactured now). On the carton it says “in-line recording.” That means it doesn’t have a tuner. I checked with my cable company, whose agent told me that the DTV box it supplied to transmit digital signals to my TV is a tuner. However, it turns out that little DTV box has only one coaxial input jack (from antenna or wall cable) and one coaxial output jack (to carry signal to the TV). In principle that output jack could be routed to the Funai VCR, with output from the VCR going to the TV. In that way one can watch a live program, and/or record that program (directly or via timed setting). But the Funai does NOT have a coaxial input jack; it has input ...

  • It works

This is the digital device tool if you're holding on to the old way of viewing movies - there is no tuner for analog is dead and it cannot record in stereo but plays in that format of stero well. Worth the purchase - it no much to look at but get the job done.

  • Satisfied with product

Since there's no remote, it doesn't want to go to other options on the DVD menu using the buttons, but I'd only need to do that to watch foreign films to choose sub and sub options, so it's fine for English movies. All the buttons work in general tho. My kids like to watch Disney movies on VHS, so I love it overall. (:
