Linksys WRT150N Router is a bargain.

Being an information technology professional there are several things I look for in a home router. Many of these will not be used by most home users. If you are a gamer, a computer professional or someone just wanting to setup a simple wireless home network, you cannot go wrong with this little unit. Setup is simple, fast and easy. Speed is good and range of signal is very good also. I have always liked Linksys.

  • Not bad once you flash it

Overall, I wanted to investigate looking into a Wireless-N router that was not only cheap, but could be flashed with linux firmware and enhance its potential. Standard linksys firmware by all means, sucks. It is buggy, drops signals, and I've always as long as I can remember, had to reboot the thing once every couple weeks to a month, which would only occur more as the routers got older. With this routers ability to be flashed with DD-WRT, it runs absolutely fine and stable. No issues whatsoever. I can run a FTP site with no issues, carry out VoIP convos on my phone, and downloading is pretty nice too. For all of you that whine and complain about linksys routers being horrible, try flashing it. Worth the five minutes to do, and makes the router a lot better. Ive had this router for almost ...

  • Good Router, bad setup wizard

The router is as good as any other router I've had. This one didn't come with any manuals (don't know why), but instead had a CD with a setup program which was supposed to help you set up the router. The wizard was worthless. It gave no options for advanced settings unless you successfully configured with the wizard, which didn't work in my case because I have a VOIP router in line before this router. After some digging, I was able to find the IP address of the router and access the web based configuration.

  • Nice unit for nice price! Good range, good features and sweet deal!

Older tech but still useful. Hopefully security is all it says it is. LOTS of options in Main menu (may be a little overwelming for the novice).

  • Great cost Router for Flashing with DDWRT FULL!

Used one of these for a hotspot using ddwrt (full version) and it become a GREAT router, very happy with mine NEVER had to reboot it to get it to work. Unlike some other routers I have used in the past (non linksys) ones which often require reboots. This not a good router it's a GREAT router.
