    Good but Not Great...I miss Cat and Bones :(

    Good book in Frost's new series but not nearly as good as her Night Huntress novels...love Cat and Bones. Denise MacGregor, Cat's best friend, has lost her new husband, horrifically, to the creepy crawlies in Cat's world. She enlists the aid of Spade, another vampire from the Night Huntress series, to stop the murders of her family. Against Spade's better judgement, he joins Denise in her quest to save her loved ones... and surprise, surprise, they fall in love. Like I said...good but not great..too predictable. I'll probably, eventually, maybe, read the rest of the series.

    Best Read & Author

    I loved this book. I have read all of Jeaniene Frost's books. I wish she had more to read, but hey the ones that I have read I absolutely LOVED!! Her books have it all, action, love, humor, and drama. It's about lessons learned. Falling in love with the one person that you never thought would be the one. There is always a twist or two in all of her books. He books are the only ones that have had me laughing out loud, wanting to cry, and sighing because of the romance. I loved this book and all of her others Night Huntress books. I highly recommend this book and her other four. They are a MUST read!! Hope you all enjoyed this First Drop of Crimson as much as I did!!

    Good but not Great

    I'm hooked on Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series - seriously guilty pleasure! But this spinoff book just wasn't as good as the Cat/Bones stories, primarily b/c of the female heroine, Denise. Fans may remember her sassy, spunky personality from the 2nd book, One Foot in the Grave. In this book, though, she is really BORING! I realize here, she is a demon-possessed, guilt-ridden widow, but I got so tired of her whiny inner-monologue. It was fun to learn more about Spade and his back-story, though. So glad to have read it, but not one of the best. What I can't wait for is the next Cat and Bones centered story!
