About this product

Product Information

Tom Brokaw said it best about the author: This Santa "can only be described as the real thing." With warmth, humor, and wonder, Ed Butchart shares his stories as a professional Santa Claus in The Red Suit Diaries. Deftly combining his Santa persona with his passion for God, Butchart reveals himself as a once-hardened Marine who found Jesus and began to serve others in unusual ways. Readers who open The Red Suit Diaries will find themselves transfixed-from Santa's day job refurbishing medical equipment for the disabled, to the sweetest of secrets whispered in Santa's ear and written in letters, and the story of how he unknowingly found "Mrs. Claus." Woven throughout is a faith-and a joy of giving-that energizes Butchart's mission to spread love to all kinds of children and adults. This fun-spirited, inspirational read will delight collectors of Christmas books and anyone who's a child at heart.

  • A feel good story about a real-life Santa

I saw this book at a local Hallmark and thumbed through it. The owner of the store informed me that the book is about a local man and I was intrigued but I didn't buy it at the time. I love to read, but don't like paying full price so I checked online and got a brand new copy for less than half the price. This book is the first of two and I plan to get the second Red Suit Diaries as well. A very easy to read and entertaining look at how someone becomes Santa and the responsibilities that accompany that decision. Ed shares some pretty personal experiences with kids coming to see Santa over the years. I had planned to give this as a gift, but couldn't put it down once I started reading. I will keep it and bring it out each year to keep that "spirit of Christmas" feeling and pick ...

  • A very touching and heart warming book

This book was well written. It made me feel good to know that there are people out there that are "Santa" year round in spirit. This book made me laugh and cry because I was so touched. I enjoyed this book so much that I managed to find enough to give as gifts to my MOPS group and my LOGOS board at church. I highly recommend this book to lift up your spirit whether it is Christmas time or not.

  • Red Suit diaries

My husband is also a real bearded Santa. He had an offer of a mall job so we wanted to know what life was like as a mall Santa. Red Suit Diaries tells just that--life behind the red suit at the mall. Written very well with very interesting stories--especially to aspiring Santas--but interesting to any who have an interest in Santa.
