About this product

Product Information

Carnegie Medal Winner * New York Public Library Books for the Teen Age * VOYA Best Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror * ALA Best Fiction for Young Adults * Book Sense Pick The Amazing Maurice runs the perfect Pied Piper scam. This streetwise alley cat knows the value of cold, hard cash and can talk his way into and out of anything. But when Maurice and his cohorts decide to con the town of Bad Blinitz, it will take more than fast talking to survive the danger that awaits. For this is a town where food is scarce and rats are hated, where cellars are lined with deadly traps, and where a terrifying evil lurks beneath the hunger-stricken streets.... Set in Terry Pratchett's beloved Discworld, this masterfully crafted, gripping read is both compelling and funny. When one of the world's most acclaimed fantasy writers turns a classic fairy tale on its head, no one will ever look at the Pied Piper--or rats--the same way again

  • Buy this book!

Rarely does one find a book that can be savored on many different levels by people of any age. Children will find a wonderful twist on the story of the "Pied Piper". Adults will enjoy a satirical commentary on many of today's important topics written by a master who has been favorably compared to the likes of Tolkien, and Vonnegut. It's a book to enjoy through many readings and you're sure to find more to appreciate each time!

  • Clever Pied Piper retold

Another winner from Terry Pratchett! What a fun fantasy and different take on pied piper tales! Not for the very young, but definitely for adults and kids aged 10 and up.

  • The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents

Terry Pratchett is one of my all time favorite authors, I have read all of his books, I wont divulge any plots of the book because if you are like me you dont wont to know the plots until you reach them in the book. But I do highly recomend this book.
