    An excellent upgrade for the Cisco 2811

    I purchased the CIsco 2911 "Integrated Services Router" as an economical replacement for the long-antiquated Cisco 2811 as I needed the same feature set but with gigabit line-speed/network connectivity. I operate a small ISP and the primary use of my Cisco routers are to maintain BGP sessions with my ISPs (uplink providers) to announce my IP prefixes under my AS numbers and to do basic routing to and from the Internet to servers in our rack at the datacenter. We use other offerings such as pfSense for other network needs but for what we use Cisco, they perform perfectly and above expectation. The 2911 is doing everything above and beyond what the 2811 did - but at a much higher line speed. With the 2811, I was limited to 100Mbit connectivity to my uplinks.
