I have never yet found a movie with John Wayne either starred or played a part that was improper in anyway. I believe that I should send example not only for my children, who are now grown but my grandchildren. How can we expect them to watch good movies if we do not do so ourselves. Thank you so much make it a good day.

    Operation Pacific

In his most memorable role John Wayne and Patricia Neal and Ward Bond. John Wayne ends up with a back injury and is laying face down paralyzed. Ward Bond the faithful friend plays a ukelala singing "I going to move that toe' day after day and finally John Wayne moves his toe. Which brings surprise to everyone

  • Operation Pacific

John Wayne is the first officer of the submarine Thunderfish. When he and ex wife Patricia Neal meet again after the war starts and being divorced for 4 years, they both try to recapture that old love they had together. But when Wayne embarks on a mission, his best friends younger brother goes after Neal (who is a nurse in the movie). Wayne and Thunderfish find their mission complicated by numerous problems - including dud torpedoes - as they hunt for targets. Ward Bond plays the captain, Pop Perry, of the Thunderfish and gives a great co-starring effort. While this movie is not one of Waynes top movies, it may be the change of directors from John Ford to George Waggner had something to do with taking out some of the fight from the Duke and making things more romantic in this flix. A ...

  • Operation Pacific (DVD, 2003)

Decent old John Wayne movie about the Submarine Service. He is the Executive Officer abord the submarine USS Thunderfish. Ward Bond is the captain and Wayne's best friend. When several torpedos fail to explode, they surface to bombard a Japanese freighter. The benign freighter turns out to be a surface raider in disguise and they are seriously outgunned. The captain is mortally wounded and orders his ship to submerge while he is still on the bridge, and is killed. Duke (Wayne) assumes command. On an earlier mission, Duke and Pop (Bond) rescued a bunch of nuns and orphans, one just a baby born during rescue. This affected Duke severely. He and his wife Mary Stewart (Patricia Neal), had a son who died as a baby, and they divorced soon afterward. When he visited the baby in the hospital at ...

  • John Wayne At HIs Finest

I bought this because I am a big fan of JOhn Wayne, and it was on my list of John Wayne Movies to Add to my collection It was largely historically accurate. and plenty of action and the right touch of humour in the course of the human condition. With Patricia O'niel asd his love interest who also had rolls in a couple of other John wayne flims. It compares well with others of john waynes earlier work. Also For the this genre it is quite good. It also compares well with that era of pictures. I would definitely recommend this to any die hard John wayne action fan.
