      The battery fit my HP Pavilion g7. I noticed that with the old battery the LED next to the power adapter cord was flashing red. With this new battery I now have a solid LED light. In addition to changing the battery I also used sandpaper on the laptop's battery contacts and I sanded the outside of the power adapter cord as I was reading low voltage on the digital voltmeter. Previously I had removed the two Windows drivers for the battery. I downloaded and ran the hardware diagnostic tests.
