  • Sam Force yaw 22 front derailleur with chain spotter

Like all front derailleurs the set up is tricky. I found the Sram video on setting up the front derailleur to be very helpful, Sram Tech on YouTube. Once set up correctly the front shifting is very good. I am using Rival shifters and Red cranks. The Rival shifters require some effort and probably increases shift time. The yaw derailleur does a great job shifting to both the large and small chainrings. Once the derailleur gets the chain moving the shifts are rapid and accurate. I am using a Sram 1190 chain. The yaw derailleur design eliminates the need to trim the front derailleur which is a very nice feature. The derailleur also comes with a chain spotter. The chain spotter is very easy to set up and adds to the overall value. The build quality of the derailleur seems very good. I am running Shimano Ultegra on another bike. The Ultegra shifts as well if not better. The Ultegra requires a shorter throw and less effort on the shifter. Ultegra requires you to trim the front derailleur which now seems like a hassle. Ultegra does not come with a chain spotter. The Sram Force 22 yaw front derailleur is a very good product at a great price.

  • high performance low price... a must have for Sram users

Shifts better than a standard derailleur and and barely costs more than the chain catcher it comes with... this is a steal. I upgraded from a standard Sram Rival derailleur and it shifts much better plus with the chain catcher I don't have to worry about a dropped chain, highly recommended.

  • SRAM Force 22

The yaw makes a noticeable difference. I run a compact double in front, a mountain derailleur in rear with SRAM 12-36 cassette. The 22 is more tolerant with big ring to big sprocket cross-chaining.

SRAM has done it again. Performs flawlessly just like the Red 22 yaw does.

  • As good as Red

Excellent derailleur. Just a few grams less than the comparable SRAM Red, at about half the price. Definite boost in shifting performance over old SRAM fd's. Billed as specific to 11-speed, but I'm running it on 10-speed crankset/chainrings and it shifts flawlessly.
