Nice unit for the price
I replaced a Simer dual battery backup system with this one. Ease of install is good. Simplicity of unit is good. I like the charger and indicators. I also like the fact i don't have to buy two batteries every three years. Minuses: instructions could be more clear on battery type, pipe diameter for install clarity is iffy, does not push 3300 gpm at an 8 foot rise (they should be more clear on this in their advertising). Back-up Pump
Product was delivered quickly, was simple to install and worked out of the box. The one thing I like was that the pump was small enough to fit along side the main sump pump. This allowed the switch to be set anywhere above the main pump. That is in case the main pump is over whelmed, the back-up will kick in before the water level become too high. It is also better to have a separate pipe for the back-up, in case the main pump out let becomes frozen which happened to me one winter. You need it when you need it
I already had the same unit but the charger failed after several years. Consequently the battery (not included in this deal) died. I tried to get a replacement charger from the company to no avail. That is the reason I took off a star in the ratings. It is a great unit and you need it when the water is coming up and there is a power outage.
