However both deliveries had terribly damaged boxes and this time the blind could almost fall out of the box.     Overkill but really great

    I was ready to get a Gen 1 F2.8 until I saw this has macro capabilities. In daylight, you'll probably never miss the more open aperture. It's a heavy lens but has a small footprint compared to many other 70-200 lenses. All the setting and programmable buttons are going to take me some time to grow in to but I'm glad to have them.
