    Men of the USS Indianapolis

From the time the A Bomb is delivered, and the ship is returning to port, I58, a japanese submarine torpedoes the ship. A call went out to abandon the ship. The Japanese Captain, wanted to stop and help the sailors, but it was war, and he was ordered to return, to base. The men then encountered, their next fear sharks...from great whites to makos in the water, 962 men went into the ocean and less than 500 came out of the water. The rest of the movie focuses on a trial by the Captain and his failure to obey orders and do what is right...Nicolas Cage and Tom Sizemore deliver a convincing team, and the young men who co star in the film and a brilliant cast as well! You see the fear and worry about coming home who will be the sharks next menu item...Anyone who is curious about the Indianapolis ...

    Horrible movie!

I bought this movie because I am very interested in WW 2 and the USS Indianapolis to be specific. My son and I could only watch half of the movie because it was so poorly done. The acting is terrible, the CGI is horrible. Much of the acting and story line is laughable. They added extra story lines where there didn't need to be any. They deal with segregation, as if blacks and whites were concerned about color while trying to survive in the ocean. I wondered why this movie didn't go to theaters but only after 5 minutes I realized why it never made the big screen. I have lots of war movies, but this is the first one that I watched and immediately sold because it was so bad. I have two coworkers that watched it as well, both hated it. Watch this on netflix, don't waste your money!

  • USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage

I enjoyed the movie because it's the story of my father's cousin's husband, who was one of the survivors. It helped me to understand more what he went through. His name was Daniel Spencer from Illinois. Thank you.

  • A Great True Story about the Last Heavy Cruiser sunk in WWII

The USS Indianapolis was the last Heavy Cruiser sunk in WWII, they were never givien a escort ship, they had radar for surface ships , but nothing to protect from Japanese submarines "the fact it had (no sonar) on board causing it sail blind". A Great True to life of the Men, and Officers who served on her
