    Must have for heavier boats like my deck boat

    Great winch. Must have for heavier boats, especially at shallow boat launches. You will no longer need to get wet to load your boat. Lower the gear and keep on cranking. Bam, bobs your uncle and the boat is fully on the trailer.

    A good start, but very much needs modification.

    The reason I bought this winch was for the 2 speed retrieval. That much works as advertised; the low gear is so much easier to use for the last few feet pulling the boat onto my trailer. However... There is one very serious design flaw and that is the long handle throws the balance way off when you are trying to pull out the length of strap you need to attach to the boat bow eye.That makes it very very hard to pull the strap because the handle wants to stay down and strongly resists rising up and beginning to turn freely as you pull. And then you can with great effort keeping it turning (barely) as the handle flops back down on every revolution and fights rising up all over again. Sooo... I did what the manufacturer should have done; I balanced out the weight of the winch handle by adding ...
