helps to neaten up your yarn
Very nice yarn winder to have, helps to neatly wind so less tangles latter when using your yarn or what ever you are winding, will equal less of a mess with bags or boxes of yarns, this is smaller 4oz, approximately winder . cakes of yarn, everyone should try doing this, you will like it latter when using whatever you wind in to cakes, will need to hold with some pull on the yarn or twine to make the ball/cake tight, if it is too lose just rewind to tighten, you make want to use a glove on hand while tensioning the yarn and this will also help to clean out anything from the yarn. holds good on tables, just have to keep tension on yarn because if left too loss the yarn will get wound in the lower part and get stuck in the gears and then you will have to unwind to remove from winding ... Saves a lot of time!
Once you get used to this ball winder, it becomes one of those necessary tools that makes life easier. It winds balls beautifully. My friend purchased an electric ball winder shortly after I purchased this one, she is taking it back and exchanging it for the Stanwood. That tells me everything.
