Classic RPG ported to GBA is a hit
older game. gba version is fun compared to the console version. NPC's and the town are a little more fleshed out. you only can pick one character but any class, which is different from the console version where you had three options. overall a great GBA game, amazing to see it in portable version at that time. great collectors item for any baldurs gate/D&D/Nintendo fan.

If you like Dungeons & Dragons, or simply action based RPGs then you must try this game out! It is a brilliant adaptation of the same titled game released on the Gamecube, Xbox, PS2, etc. The level format is changed a lot, but the gameplay is almost identical to the 3D versions of the game. The gameplay is fun and addictive, the quest is interesting, and the character's appearance changes as you change his equipment. There's an unlockable character who has the abilities available of all the others, so you can create a tailored character based on your preferences, though playing through with the first three is just as satisfying. I liked this game so much that I bought two copies, and the only reason I didn't give it a perfect score is that the game was over too quick. However, bear ... Baldur's Gate for GBA
In one simple sentence, this is the best Diablo-style game for the GBA. If you like this type of games, there is nothing as good as this one on the GBA. The adventure is very interesting (although faithful to all the standard cliches typical of this kind of games), and the game also takes the most of the processing capability of the Gameboy Advance to create a more than satisfying visual experience, with very good isometric graphic (with view of 3D environments from the top), and a big variety of landscapes and characters. Even in a time where more powerful portable consoles are around, playing a game like this is still a pleasure, even more if you play it on a AGS-101 version of the GBA SP console (the rare backlit version of the GBA SP, with much brighter screen, which sometimes can be ... Highly recommended to everyone.

The guys who put together the Baldur's Gate series of games never fail to impress me with their attention to detail and fine-tuned products. This is, like the games in the series that came before it, a wonderful sweeping adventure, full of interesting quests, strange critters, and a large variety of magic items and equipment. The graphics are very nice, and the play style is exactly what one who had played the previous games would expect. Overall, the only flaw I could possibly find is the way the characters aren't balanced - some are good in the beginning levels, some at the end - but this is a characteristic trait of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons games (the wizard is always a wimp at the beginning and middle levels, and then extremely powerful at the end).
