Based on a popular Korean online golf game, and cousin of the Super Swing Golf series on Wii, Pangya: Fantasy Golf offers PSP gamers a decidedly Hot Shotsian take on the sport, with 18 cartoonish characters driving, chipping, and putting around nine fantasy courses. In "Story" mode, players earn the in-game currency known as "pang" by participating in golfing events, and gamers can use that pang to purchase hundreds of different outfits, accessories, balls, clubs, and character upgrades. The "Pangya Tour" mode finds players earning licenses and competing for prizes in a variety of themed tournaments, while "Free Round" mode lets gamers enjoy a stress-free round of golf. Those looking for multiplayer action can still earn pang for their character as they join up to seven friends for single-player or team-based tournaments in "Network Mode."

Great alternative to Hot Shots Golf 1 & 2 For The PSP. The load times could be better, but this was a early release for the handheld. Great graphics and a interesting, but weird story line make this title a keeper!

a "ok" game but I expected more to be honest...
I got into golf recently and, being an avid gamer, I wanted to check out a lot of major golf games out there. If you need to know, these are Mario Golf (GBA), Everybody's Golf 2 (PSP) (a.k.a. Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2), Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (PSP), Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 (Wii), and my latest addition, Pangya: Fantasy golf for the the PlayStation Portable. A major reason why I was so excited to get this game is that I was hoping it would be a bigger and better golf game than Everybody's Golf 2 which I (more or less) completed and which I would rank as my favourite amongst the above list. However, the biggest flaw view with EG2, in my opinion, is the lack of a story, campaign, or tour mode. Sure there is a Challenge mode but it never quite felt like a proper story or tour mode as ... I found that really disapointing because, other than that, I would argue EG2 has the better gameplay and the better graphics. So when I picked Pangya, I did it really hoping to get a game that would be like Everybody's Golf 2 but with a story mode. You do get the story mode, and I really appreciate the big amount of effort that was put into it (nice items, colourful pictures and icons, interaction between characters, etc). The story mode isn't perfect but it gets the job done. My biggest issue is with the gameplay and the graphics elements of the game: First of all, the graphics are... well... not very good I think, especially when it comes to the character models. There is, in my opinion, a huge gap between that and EG2... in fact, that's the first thing that I noticed when I started the game: the characters looks less detailed and washed out, and the courses look less pleasing to the eye than in EG2. As far as the gameplay is concerned, it feels a lot less solid than that of EG2, even though, it is more forgiving (which I would consider a plus because, at times, I find EG2's gameplay to be too severe in the later stages of the games (moreso since the game is supposedly aimed at a younger and more casual audience)). So for me, that's where the problem lies... they put a good amount of effort in the story mode and overall presentation part of the game, but when it comes down the actual golfing, the game is not up to the level I was hoping it would be, hence the grade I have given it (N.B. I found a 3 out of 5 rating to be quite severe but I found a 4 out of 5 one to be too generous... so really, if I could, it'd give it a 3.5 out of 5 rating instead of a 3).

Very good golf game with a lot of fun options: combos, power potions, colorful scenarios. Your character can be customized with clothes, accessories, and there is a history mode to tie all together and network mode to play with friends. I miss the full online mode that comes with Pangya for PC (free online game), but you can always play and practice in your PSP and then play with or against people on your PC. Or if you are fan of Pangya for PC, this is a must have :)Very good golf game with a lot of fun options: combos, power potions, colorful scenarios. Fun!!
Fun game to play and really entertaining. Although the story isn't strong its cute how each character has some connection to another. Game play is fun. It's similar to any other golf game cept in a more simple way. If youre looking for a game to keep you from bordom... this game will do fine.

I love this game! The controls are pretty straight forward. The tutorial is concise. The gameplay is pretty .uch seamless, and is just surreal enough to keep you interested.
