Get this before you start to collect!

Excellent book on the subject of glass hen on nests, tons of great, researched information. I've referred to it a ton already, I wish I had it before I'd started to collect. I like that it is in two volumes, one for American and one for European, the ring binding makes it easy to use. They have good, heavy paper and laminated covers. Some of the photos aren't as high quality as I would like, and in some cases the author wasn't able to find an actual photos and had to rely on old catalog drawings, which are cool in and of themselves. I am glad it is available in this format, the original has some crazy prices. I wish there was one on ceramic hen on nests.

  • ID FOR HENS ON NEST

A concise compiliation of possibly every hen on nest made. I've seen a lot of on nest dishes and am delighted to have them all together. It's amazing on how many similar patterns are out there. I've seen many glass identification books which are just pictures of someone's collection, often with numerous id errors. This is not one of those books. The first issue of this book goes for a great deal of money on eBay; I don't know why one would invest in that when this updated version is way less and offers much more. The ring binding is not my favorite; however the pages are thicker than those of a standard book. Ms. Smith put a lot of effort into this book. MARLENE J. DeFRENN

  • Detailed & full of interesting information

PROS: The author did a fantastic job of organizing all of the information & presenting it into an easy to follow format. Loaded with information, history & descriptions of the various HON out there, both foreign & US made. Pictures are sharp & clear. Printed on heavy paper, so heavy use of the book won’t damage the pages. CONS: I personally wish that the author would have expanded the information to include the other animals that the glass makers made.

  • Great book and great value

This book is totally awesome, and has fantastic information and history about Hens on Nest, in both America and in Europe.. Don't miss out on this book while it's still so reasonable to buy.. Author's other book, Vol 1, is just too expensive, for most of us to afford.. This Vol 2 book is incredibly worth it's fairly small price.. Hope you enjoy this marvelous book as much as i do.. kame7052
