    Beautifully detailed model of a steam locomotive in 1:220 scale

    A nicely detailed 1:220 scale working model of the former Prussian Class T 18 passenger tank locomotive, as she would have appeared between 1920 and 1945 after incorporation into DRG Class 78 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn. The prototype, most of which were built by the Vulkan Werke in Stettin (now Szczecin, Poland) proved a great success, especially on shorter routes where they benefited from being able to run equally as well both forwards and backwards. The Deutsche Bundesbahn, who took over 424 of the 534 built, after 1945, eventually retired them from service in 1975. A number are now in preservation including examples which are still in steam. This model benefits from a later, 5-pole motor with improved reliability and running properties and is a delightful addition to any 'period' ...
