Beginning with their landmark first American concert in Washington, D.C. in 1964, the video captures performances of classics like "I Saw Her Standing There," "She Loves You," and "I Wanna Hold Your Hand." In addition, rare newsreel clips of a Hollywood Bowl performance and some very personal interviews with the band -- in which Paul talks about his romance with actress Jane Asher, and the rest of the boys pontificate on fame, the future, and the meaning behind their songs, are included.

    The Beatles at a Pivotal Point in Their History

    A strange look at the Beatles in live on-stage performances that finishes with an interview after problems with the Philippines visit and John Lennon's comment about their popularity compared to Jesus. Their live performances were uneven, but the fans still reacted ecstatically. The interview was fair, leaving open the space for the Beatles to explain their positions. The group deflected, preferring to respond blandly and defensively or deflectively. They were not the same Beatles, then. No further live performances, but plenty of great and unique music out of the recording studios until the breakup some years later. A slightly unsettling look that stays with you.

    The only footage i had never seen was Pete Best's appearance on "What's My Line ". All the rest I've seen in other docs. Disappointing.
