  • Great Textbook, Used for Wrong College Course

I brought this textbook for school but have found it not to fit the class itself. The class is supposed to be directed towards preschool children and younger who have disabilities. This book in select areas doesn't do that but instead focuses more on Elementary school age or adults. Not sure whether the college made a mistake on making this the required textbook for the class or if there just isn't a book that the class. Either way this textbook isn't the one for the class. Regardless, I like the textbook. I would just use it for more of college course that focuses on Elementary school children and an introductory to special education rather than preschool age and below.

  • Great value for the money.

I bought this book because it is required reading for my college class. The book is in great shape and eventhough I've only read the first two chapters yet, I like that it gives a general overview of the definition of special education, the history, litigation, and legislation that has had great implications for people with special needs. I also like how each chapter provides a special story of someone who has benefited from specialized/individualized instruction and special services. The book is very realistic regarding the controversies and implications of such legislation and programs for people with disabilities/special needs. It has been very informative thus far.
