    Epic rise of baseball!

    Great book for baseball history buffs! As a Reds fan, this book really showed how Harry Wright was not only instrumental in establishing the first Pro team (Cinti. Red Stockings), but his high standards were very instrumental in developing respected pro baseball in the whole country! I am fascinated with how both baseball & the country grew together. This book covers it all - from small town fields to big city events. (Ha - a little hard to read in bed. It is a big coffee table book stuffed with historic images.)

    Five stars all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I purchased this book, to educate my 12 year grandson (who is a tournament baseball player) about the TRUE legends of baseball. He is at an age where he is extremely curious to know how the players from yesteryear, would compare with the players of today. We are both having blast in going back in a "time machine" reliving the accomplishments of these great players. As a side not, I also purchased the DVD that is a perfect companion to the book. I highly recommend that all dad and grand-dads purchase this extremely well done project.... Thank you for this incredible masterpiece!

    Baseball: by Ken Burns & G. Ward, hardcover book

    This is a great table top companion book to the Ken Burns PBS series about baseball and the American way of life. It has hundreds of photos, many of them historical old photos of the stadiums, the great players, old cities and sand lots where baseball has been played. Just browsing through the photos is as much fun as reading the text which documents the history of baseball as it follows the history of our country. Very good reading and browsing book. A++++++

    Better than I could Ever Imagine!

    I bought this as a gift for an extreme baseball fan/collector. It is WAY bigger and better than I could ever imagine. The details are unimaginable, you must see it for yourself! He absolutely LOVES it.
