we all know and laugh on steven seagal now days, becoming a joke even to his die hard (no pun intended) fans, refusing to let go of his massive ego, lying about his pre-acting career, getting fat, lazy on his own movies, being in over 30 unwatchable direct-to-video trash with zero value and not to metion he can't act for s**t after his prime (1988-1992). i loved his first 5 films: "Above the Law", "Hard to Kill", "Marked for Death", "Out for Jusice" and his magnum opus "Under Siege" where considered the 'steven seagal classics' that were taken him seriously as an actor. Under siege is a very enteratinning action flick. steven seagal gives his best effort since 'above the law' in terms of his acting, the battleship location is very memerble, the high production values and course the main reason why the film was so successful was the villains, tommy lee jones and gary busy they nailed the villain roles perfectly. i think i saw under siege more times then his other good films. Sound and picture were great. Dolby Digital 5.1 & HD make this movie well worth the buy. Steven Seagal was great And so was that cute little blonde with him. As usual Gary Busy was a Jerk.
Great Picture and sound. With the Blu-Ray DVD transfer its great watching it in HD. I the plot and acting are solid, but I really think having seen the regular dvd vs. the Blu-Ray there is no comparison. If you like the story you will love the Blu Ray version http://stores.ebay.com/Dvdmagnet
Tommy Lee Jones delivers big (and it's obvious why director Andrew Davis wanted him for The Fugitive one year later). Seagal's body of work isn't that great, but this would be a gem in any action star's filmography.
