I bought this Southern Living cookbook because my copy had been lost or misplaced in a move. I'm a Southern Living cookbook collector and this one is one of my favorites. These are recipes I grew up with my Mom making and you can count on the accuracy of each recipe being tried and true. So many cookbooks today have gotten so sophisticated with hard to find ingredients and hard to follow instructions that it makes going back to these "oldies but goodies" fun to make and even better to eat. I highly recommend this cookbook if you can find it.

This is a great cookbook that has most of the recipes from the Mid-South. The recipes were the way I grew up, in the 50's and 60's, enjoying. They are simple enough that a novice cook can use. I wanted a book that I could reference when I get in the kitchen, when my wife will allow, and try out some of the old recipes. Although they may may not be the healthiest with today's standards they sure are tasty.
Excellent recipes. Non complicated. A few exceptional recipes. This is my second copy; the other one was too stained. A must try is Banana Nut Spice Bread, Country Captain, and the Squash Casserole with nutmeg on page 378.
