About this product

Product Information

Who's hungry? EVERYONE. Who has time to cook? NO ONE. Dig out the slow cooker. Add a second and a third if you wish. Fill one with main-dish fixins and the others with go-alongs. Do it in the morning--or between work and after-school events. Come home to richly-flavored, ready-to-serve food. Slow cookers are having a comeback. With good reason. They are friends on a day of running errands. They allow easy entertaining with no last-minute preparation. And vegetarians won't find a better way to work with dried beans. Slow cookers are gentle with the food budget--less expensive ingredients flourish in their slow, moist heat. Fix-It and Forget-It offers the range of recipes slow cookers do well: Appetizers and Snacks, Soups and Stews, Main Dishes (with and without meat), Vegetables and Go-Alongs, Desserts and Beverages. Bring an element of simplicity--and quality--to your pressured life! Let your slow cooker work for you.

Received my book in a bundle with other books, and they all arrived undamaged and in great condition! I was very surprised at how great the condition of the book really is for a used book. I will definitely be using the seller again. Thank you so much!

Lots of good recipes you'll use again and again.

Lots of sensible recipes that call for ingredients I have stocked in my pantry and/or freezer. Most of these recipes don't call for fancy/expensive ingredients, just good down to home tasting recipes that are easy on the budget. Plus space isn't taken up by a lot of fancy pictures. I've had my own copy for over 20 years and bought this one for a friend who won a slow cooker at a Christmas Party. Lots of good recipes that use again and again.

  • Fix-It and Forget-It - Crockpot Cooking

I was looking for an all-purpose slow cooker/crockpot cookbook. These recipes don't make you run to the store for that exotic ingredient, and most include items I usually have on hand. Most recipes have simple, easy instructions and require short prep times before putting things in the slow cooker. One complaint is that there are several recipes that are nearly identical and could have been eliminated to give room for more variety. The book is a compilation from several cooks - more like a family or organization cookbook where you'd find 10 recipes for hamburger stew and all are about the same. Still, an overall good resource with many good recipes.

  • love this cookbook

this book has many varied and different recipes that I am interested in trying. It is so very different from the usual book I've seen and I highly recommend this book.

  • Crockpot Cooking Made Easy with Fix it & Forget It Book

I rate this high on the order of cookbooks. Easy to read recipes with no weird ingredients that you have to find from a specialty store. Great for families with a food budget as this uses simple and less expensive products. If you are a busy working person and love to come home to ready cooked meals, this cookbook is for you. Gives a varity of recipes for crockpot, slow cooker meals that are tasty and makes you feel good. Alot of comfort foods and casseroles. I work all day and hate to come home and have to start supper right away for the family. This cookbook has allowed me to come home and relax and feel that I have a hot meal ready to serve. I use this book about once a week.
