About this product

Product Information

#1 New York Times bestselling author and renowned radio and television host Glenn Beck delivers an instant Christmas classic about boyhood memories, wrenching life lessons, and the true meaning of the gifts we give to one another in love. If you could change your life by reversing your biggest regrets, sorrows, and mistakes...would you? When Eddie was twelve years old, all he wanted for Christmas was a bike. He knew money had been tight since his father died, but Eddie dreamed that somehow his mother would find a way to afford that dream bike. What he got from her instead was a sweater. A stupid, handmade, ugly sweater that young Eddie left in a crumpled ball in the corner of his room. Scarred deeply by the fateful events that transpired that day, Eddie begins a dark and painful journey toward manhood. It will take wrestling with himself, his faith, and his family--and the guidance of a mysterious neighbor named Russell--to help Eddie find his life's path and finally understand the significance of that simple gift his mother had crafted with love.

    Good little book

It was a sweet book and a good reminder of what’s truly important especially at this time of year!

  • A book for anyone who knows a dysfunctional family memb

I always felt confused about Glenn Beck's mixed up emotional states on his talk show and host spots on Fox. I chalked him up as a manic-depressive type. After reading his work of "faction". I gained much more respect for his heart. I believe we all could find a little chunk of our vena cava in his words. Possibly, even a bit of muscle to patch up a few holes that we all have. The reviews might mislead some at first glance in believing that this is just a chick flick book, but really, it is a great book for men, too. Just enough hard-core anger to connect. Not preachy, not sobby. Identifiable. Not just for Christmas either. Go ahead...it won't make you a conservative!

  • A Fantastic Life Changing Book

Wow! There's hardly words how Glenn brings down to earth the true meaning of both living and family. The true grit of what its all about. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone....a great book for teenagers who need a good lesson about being honest and real and how important it is to stand true to yourself in the pressures of life. A book for teenage all the way to 150....can't think of one type of person who wouldn't gain alot from reading it. Awakens the heart that you thought was dead and feelingless too. Thanks Glenn, you are truly a wonderful and amazing person. God Bless

  • I laughed, I cried, I passed it on to a friend!

It was a great story. It was well told and touched me emotionally. It's one of two books that I've read that has actually connected with me enough to make me cry, (I don't ever cry). If your looking for a book that can touch your heart read this one. If it doesn't give you any feelings at all you should look and make sure that you still have your soul! And, it's still a good story even if you're too hearless to feel it.

  • Disappointed, but still love Beck....

As a disclaimer, I am an ardent fan of Glenn Beck's radio show. I like his humor, agree with him often, but love his sincerity all the time. Therefore after much hype on the show, I bought this book with especially high expectations. I enjoyed the character development of Eddie, began to relate to him, enjoyed some quotes (the best of which were borrowed from the book Grace), and kept waiting. When the book hit the supposed climax--the storm--I couldn't help but think, "huh? what? did I miss something?" and actually wondered if I needed to backtrack and reread. I felt validated when two close friends said the same thing. The storm didn't have the emotional impact that we had hoped. It was rather corny and fizzled out. My fellow readers and I are religious people and I tend to be a ...
